Iranian nuclear professor assassinated by remote bomb

   

Iranian nuclear physics professor Massoud Ali Mohammadi was killed by a remote-controlled bomb outside his home in Tehran -- an act Iranian state media initially blamed on the U.S. and Israel. Mohammadi was one of 240 university teachers identified by opposition Web sites as a supporter of Iranian reformist candidate Mir Hussein Moussavi. The attack comes just before a meeting of representatives of the U.S., Russia, China, Britain, France and Germany to discuss Iran's steadfast defiance of UN Security Council measures regarding its nuclear development program.
