Cyndi Lauper to Rock Duet

Gaga and Lauper showed their "true colors" as well as their own shade of MAC lipstick. Besides helping women look chic, the proceeeds of the lipstick sales will go to AIDS charities.

who said she likes "offbeat things" within artistic community, said she was excited to work with Gaga on the campaign and didn't rule out the possibility of a duet.

And although she doesn't usually watch her performances twice, she said she had to watch the Grammy's performance again to see if it really happened.
Singers Lady Gaga and Cyndi Lauper are so natural together, it seems as though they have been friends for years. The two are even embarking on a charitable crusade together in the fight against AIDS.

But will the two take their camaraderie to the recording studio for a duet?

"Who knows - in the spirit of spreading AIDS awareness, yeah why not?" Gaga said.

The zany and outspoken singers visited NBC's "Today Show" Wednesday morning to share their involvment in MAC's Viva Glam Spring 2010 campaign, which raises AIDS awareness.

With a love for pushing the limits with their music and fashion sense, the singers, who Gaga says are both New Yorkers with "scratchy voices," also share a passion for female empowerment. Therefore, the MAC campaign's combination of glam and female leadership was a perfect fit.

If there's no official duet on the horizon, the two may share the same stage.

According to Gaga, the two will "sort of" be performing together Wednesday night.

"I have been such a huge fan of Cyndi's," Gaga gushed. She admitted that she got butterflies the first time she saw Lauper and had to perform in front of her.

The edgy, platinum blonde is still taking it all in and can't believe how far she's come - to be sitting beside Lauper, one of her childhood idols.

She is still blown away by her Grammy performance alongside the legendary Elton John as well.

"It's been a very long road and I feel really grateful," Gaga said.
